Yesterday we had a customer that wanted to instantly notify his client as soon as they received a lead. Initially, he wanted to automatically make a phone call to the client which they could answer and then press"1" to connect to the lead. After some discussion, we both decided that a text message is a lot better experience for a couple reasons. The first reason is that you can send multiple text messages to different people at the same time. This notifies everyone that a new lead has been submitted. The second reason is that phone calls don't get answered 100% of the time. There was too big of a risk of missing the call and then connecting with the lead after a long delay. Using PhoneWagon we're going to setup a text message notification to to the client for every web form that is submitted on their website. In this example, the client is using Unbounce but you can set this up with any site that you're using.Let me show you how it works:
Ultimately, this is what your zap will look like.
Before you begin, make sure you use this invite-only link to accept our "invite only" zap that will be used in the second part of this to send the text message. Here is the link again (very important or your "send SMS in PhoneWagon" zap will not appear if you haven't accepted the invite. Now let's create the zap.
Choose App: UnbounceChoose Trigger Event: New Form SubmissionChoose Account: Sync your unbounce account hereCustomize Form Submission: Client: Choose your unbounce clientLanding page: choose your landing pageFind data: confirm it’s pulling data
Choose App: PhoneWagon Access (1.0.30)Choose Action Event: Send SMSChoose Account: Add new account Get your API client ID and API Secret ID by clicking top right corner in PhoneWagon account and then clicking the gear icon to go to settings
Recipient Number: This is the CLIENT’S number that you want to receive the text messages for the new leads. Enter in this format: +16355355189Sender number: you can choose one of your phonewagon numbers to send the message to them FROMText: This is where you can customize your text message.
Notice that I manually typed “Email” and then I used the “insert data” from the unbounce form so it populates with that information for each form submission. After you customize your text, make sure to hit "TEST AND CONTINUE" to confirm it’s working (you'll need to have some data in the form to do a test). After you do the test, click “done editing” and turn on your zap. You’re done!
